Miss Haberdash blocked up....

It's about time, Trixie & Johnno victorious on The Block Sky High.

Hmmm! in our house conspiracy theories abound, why haven't they won before (cos they're in the penthouse?) and uncannily, it came just in the nick of time "We could be out next week Johnno!"

But who cares, because week after week Trixie's boho styling, inspired colour palette and aesthetic wins hands down.

Miss Haberdash paper passion....

If you're a paper person like me a visit to paper2 in Surry Hills, NSW will make you very happy. This tiny shop is bursting to the seams with cards and wrap from all corners of the globe it's an inspiration.

It goes without saying that greeting cards are a passion and my collection is extensive! I recently discovered two Aussie labels both fabulous and online, Inaluxe and Babcha Lux by Dan 300.

Miss Haberdash Kraftwerk

Kraftwerk, pioneers of electronic music played at the Sydney Opera House on the weekend as part of Vivid. Termed an audio visual exhibition the two shows I was lucky to see were spectacular, a masterful blend of 3D images and a reminder of how they continue to push boundaries 40 years on.

Miss Haberdash at St Andrews....

At the foot of the Yarra Ranges St Andrew's market is only 35km from Melbourne but a world away from inner city bustle. This is as authentic as it gets.

For people watching it can't be beat, inner city hipsters beware you'll see tribes you thought were extinct,  techno ravers (last seen at Earthcore 1992), and people who live and breath The Good Life.

It's a breath of fresh air, my take home purchases included organic veggies, a loaf of sourdough and exotic spices.

Miss Haberdash Home....

I recently popped into Hatch the new contemporary art space in Ivanhoe. Their first exhibition is called Home: Reframing Craft and Domesticity and as you can imagine it's right up my street.

Cleverly curated, the work sits within a domestic space and looks at the resurgence of craft within contemporary art. Featuring work by 55 artists including local ceramicist Lene Kuhl Jakobsen and great work by personal favourites Julie Shiels and Robert Baines.

I'm so chuffed that we have this on our doorstep, cheers to Banyule Council. So go forth and visit, don't forget to show your approval - fill in the questionnaire!

Miss Haberdash resort wear....

Unfortunately Cambodia saw the worst of my wardrobe. The baggy, daggy, and quite frankly seen better days wear. All in the name of functionality!

Next time it's fantasy resort wear all the way. It's hard to choose from D&G's Spring 2013 looks, a superb combo of craft (raffia!) and brilliant colour. Close your eyes and you're in Capri.

Miss Haberdash kramtastic....

With the temperatures hovering around the 40 degree mark a krama comes in very handy. This multi purpose Cambodian scarf can also be used for mopping your brow as a shade cloth, head cosy, sarong etc. etc. you can get very creative with them.

Usually made from 100% cotton and woven on traditional looms they are an essential Cambodian accessory and make a great present.
